Healing of hammer toes

In the spring of 1986 I noticed that the second and the third toe of my right foot were contracted. The orthopaedic surgeon diagnosed hammer toes and prescribed a toe regulator to correct this condition. Only by using this device could I walk without pain.

In the spring of 1988 I joined the Bruno Gröning Circle of Friends. In July of that year I realised that my toes were, once again, totally straight and so they have remained.
